Cruvio helps people find like-minded crews and do real things together. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Cruvio is a social discovery service for small crews, shared quests, local plans, and real-world connection. In this policy, "Cruvio," "we," "us," and "our" mean the team operating the Cruvio app, website, and related services.
1. Information we collect
- Account information, such as your name, email address, sign-in details, profile photo, age confirmation, and account settings.
- Profile and matching information, such as your city, interests, goals, availability, social preferences, crew preferences, onboarding answers, and profile setup choices.
- Activity information, such as crews you join, quests you complete, plans you create or request to join, events you attend, check-ins, points activity, premium plan activity, messages, reports, blocks, saved items, and app interactions.
- Verification and safety information, such as photo verification status, moderation reports, review decisions, device and session signals, and information needed to prevent abuse.
- Payment-related information, such as plan selected, currency, transaction reference, payment status, and billing email. Payment card or bank details are handled by payment providers and are not stored by Cruvio.
- Technical information, such as device type, operating system, app version, browser type, IP address, approximate region, diagnostics, crash reports, performance events, and security logs.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account, profile, settings, crews, quests, plans, events, premium access, and points balance.
- To recommend crews, plans, events, quests, and people who may be a good fit for your interests, location, availability, and social preferences.
- To support safety features, including reporting, blocking, moderation, photo verification, abuse prevention, suspension reviews, and trust signals.
- To send service messages, account notices, check-in reminders, quest updates, plan updates, premium receipts, and other notifications you choose to receive.
- To improve Cruvio by understanding feature usage, fixing bugs, measuring performance, detecting fraud, and making the app more reliable.
- To comply with legal, tax, payment, security, and platform requirements.
3. AI-assisted matching and recommendations
- Cruvio may use AI systems to summarize profile setup answers, create match reasons, recommend crews or plans, and help keep the experience relevant and safe.
- AI features are designed to support human connection, not replace it. We do not publish your private onboarding answers as public posts, and we do not show raw internal matching scores to other users.
- We may send limited profile, preference, and safety context to trusted AI infrastructure providers to operate these features. We limit the information used to what is reasonably needed for the feature.
4. What other users may see
- Other users may see parts of your public profile, such as your display name, profile photo, city or general area, interests, crew membership context, plan or event participation context, and friendly match reasons.
- Exact meetup details for personal plans are designed to unlock only after a matched group exists. We do not show your exact home address or precise live location to other users.
- Crew members may see messages, quest activity, plan details shared with the crew, and other information you choose to share in that crew.
5. When we share information
- Service providers: We use trusted providers for hosting, authentication, database services, storage, analytics, crash reporting, payments, notifications, email, security, and AI infrastructure.
- Safety and legal reasons: We may share information when needed to investigate abuse, protect users, enforce our rules, comply with law, respond to valid legal requests, or prevent harm.
- Business changes: If Cruvio is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- We do not sell your personal information to data brokers.
6. Payments and premium features
- Premium purchases may be processed by third-party payment providers, such as Paystack or app store payment systems. Those providers process payment details under their own privacy and security terms.
- Cruvio stores purchase status, plan type, billing interval, transaction reference, expiry, and entitlement records so we can grant access, prevent duplicate grants, handle support, and meet financial record requirements.
7. Data retention
- We keep information for as long as needed to provide Cruvio, maintain safety, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and operate backups.
- Some information may be retained after account deletion when required for security, legal, payment, moderation, or abuse-prevention reasons. Where possible, retained information is limited, archived, or separated from active use.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can update many profile details, preferences, notification settings, and account choices inside the app.
- You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your information where required by applicable law.
- You can opt out of certain notifications through app settings, device settings, or unsubscribe controls where available.
- You can request account deletion. Some deletion requests may require identity confirmation to protect your account.
9. Security
- We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect user information, including access controls, server-side authorization, audit logs for sensitive actions, and secure provider infrastructure.
- No online service can guarantee perfect security. Please use a secure email account, keep your device protected, and report suspicious activity promptly.
10. Children
- Cruvio is intended for adults. The MVP is designed for users who are 18 or older. If we learn that a child has provided personal information, we will take steps to delete it where required.
11. International use
- Cruvio may process and store information in countries other than where you live. When information is transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
12. Changes to this policy
- We may update this Privacy Policy as Cruvio changes. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the app, website, email, or another appropriate channel.
- The latest version will always show the effective date at the top of this page.
